The Secretariat is based in Walvis Bay, Namibia and is headed by the Executive Secretary who assisted by the Administrative Officer. The primary aim of the Secretariat is to coordinate the activities of the Organisation. These include among others, administration of SEAFO’s appropriations and budget, arrangements of annual and other meetings of the Commission and its subsidiary bodies, addresses communication with stakeholders, document proceedings of all meetings, oversees preparation, publication and distribution of reports The need for more staff is a subject of review by the Commission, depending on increase of the workload. Parties contribute equally to the annual budget of the Organisation (Article 12 and 13 of the Convention).
