SEAFO Convention is open to all States with “real interest” in the fisheries of the region as well as to states and regional economic integration organisations that participated in the negotiation process or whose vessels fish for stocks covered by the Convention or did so during the period 1997-2001. Non-Parties are urged to fully cooperate and to ratify the Convention to to become Parties. As on January 2010, the Parties to SEAFO are Angola, European Union, Japan, Namibia, Norway and South Africa.
